SafeNet Trusted Access for Kintone

Overview

The application template provides the ability to enable single sign-on for users accessing the Kintone application through SafeNet Trusted Access.

The SP-initiated SSO cases can be configured for Kintone.

Configuring SafeNet Trusted Access for Kintone is a three-step process:

1.Kintone setup

2.SafeNet Trusted Access setup

3.Verify authentication

Kintone Setup

As a prerequisite, download the Identity Provider Signing certificate from the SafeNet Trusted Access console by clicking the Download X.509 certificate button. You will need this certificate in one of the steps given below.

Perform the following steps to configure SafeNet Trusted Access as your Identity Provider in Kintone:

1.Log in to Kintone as an administrator using the Kintone login URL, https://<Your Organization's Domain>.kintone.com

For example, https://safenet.kintone.com

2.On the top left-hand side corner of the Kintone dashboard, click on the Settings icon , and click Users & System Administration.

3.In the left pane, under Security, click Login.

4. In the right pane, under Login Security, scroll down to SAML Authentication and perform the following steps:

a.Select the Enable SAML authentication check box.

b.Select Require SAML authentication check box.

c.In the Login URL field, enter the SingleSignOnService URL that is provided on the SafeNet Trusted Access console.

On the STA console, you can copy this URL by clicking on the Copy to Clipboard icon available next to the SingleSignOnService field.

d.In the Certificate field, under Select a Certificate, click Browse, to search and select the identity provider metadata file that you downloaded earlier from the STA console.

e.Click Download Service Provide Metadata.The metadata will be automatically downloaded. Save it on your local machine. You will need this metadata while configuring Kintone in SafeNet Trusted Access.

f.Click Save.

SafeNet Trusted Access Setup

After completing the first step of configuring SafeNet Trusted Access in Kintone, the second step is to activate the Kintone application in SafeNet Trusted Access by performing the following steps:

1.In the Applications pane, the Kintone application you added earlier is in the inactive state by default. To configure and activate this application, click the application (for example, Kintone) and proceed to the next step.

2.Under STA Setup, perform the following steps:

a.Under Account Details, in the DOMAIN NAME field, enter your domain name that is registered with the Kintone account (for example, safenet).

b.Under User Portal Settings, in the SERVICE LOGIN URL field, enter your Kintone login URL, https://<Your Organization's Domain>.kintone.com

For example, https://safenet.kintone.com

3.Click Save Configuration to save the details and activate the Kintone application in SafeNet Trusted Access.

Verify Authentication

Using STA Console

Navigate to the Kintone login URL, https://<your domain name>.kintone.com (for example, https://safenet.kintone.com).

You will be redirected to your SafeNet Trusted Access sign-in page. Enter your primary directory login information, approve the two-factor authentication, and you should be redirected to the Kintone user profile portal after authentication.

Using STA User Portal

Navigate to the User Portal URL to log in to the STA User Portal dashboard. On the dashboard, you will see a list of applications to which you have access. Click the Kintone application icon. You should be successfully logged in to the Kintone user profile portal after authentication.
