SafeNet Trusted Access for Litmos LMS


Configuring SafeNet Trusted Access for Litmos LMS is a three-step process:

1.Litmos LMS setup

2.SafeNet Trusted Access setup

3.Verify authentication

Litmos LMS Setup

As a prerequisite, download the Identity Provider signing certificate from the SafeNet Trusted Access console by clicking the Download X.509 certificate button. You will need this signing certificate in one of the steps below.

Perform the following steps to configure SafeNet Trusted Access as your Identity Provider in Litmos LMS:

1.Log in to the Litmos LMS administrator account using the URL.

2.In the upper right corner, click Admin > Account settings.

3.In the left pane under Profile, click Integrations.

4.In the right pane, click the SAML 2.0 (Single Sign On) tile.

5.Perform the following steps:

a.Select Enable SAML.

b.In the Origin URl field, enter the SingleSignOnService URL that is provided on the SafeNet Trusted Access console.

c.Open the Identity Provider certificate that you downloaded earlier from SafeNet Trusted Access in a text editor and copy the entire text of the file (including the -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- and -----END CERTIFICATE----- lines).

d.In the SAML x.509 Certificate field, paste the entire text of the Identity Provider certificate.

e.Click Save changes.

SafeNet Trusted Access Setup

After completing the first step of configuring SafeNet Trusted Access in Litmos LMS, the second step is to activate the Litmos LMS application in SafeNet Trusted Access by performing the following steps:

1.In the Applications pane, you will notice that the Litmos LMS application that you added previously is currently in inactive state by default. To configure and activate this application, click the application (for example, Litmos LMS) and proceed to the next step.

2.Under STA Setup, in the DOMAIN NAME field, enter your organization’s account domain name that you registered with Litmos LMS. For example, safenet.

3.Click Save Configuration to save the details and activate the Litmos LMS application in SafeNet Trusted Access.

Verify Authentication

Using STA Console

Navigate to the Litmos LMS URL, <Your SafeNet IDP Single Sign-On Service URL>/clients/<Litmos LMS Application Name>, where <Litmos LMS Application Name> is the name of your organization that you registered in Litmos LMS. You will be redirected to the SafeNet Trusted Access sign-in page. Enter your primary directory login information, approve the two-factor authentication, and you should be redirected to the Litmos LMS learner portal after authentication.

Using STA User Portal

Navigate to the User Portal URL to log in to the STA User Portal dashboard. On the dashboard, you will see a list of applications to which you have access. Click on the Litmos LMS application icon, you should be redirected to the Litmos LMS learner portal after authentication.
