SafeNet Trusted Access for Syncplicity

Overview

Configuring SafeNet Trusted Access for Syncplicity is a three-step process:

1.Syncplicity setup

2.SafeNet Trusted Access setup

3.Verify authentication

Syncplicity Setup

As a prerequisite, download the Identity Provider signing certificate from the SafeNet Trusted Access console by clicking the Download X.509 certificate button. Convert the identity certificate to the .pem format and then save it on your local machine. You will need this certificate in one of the steps given below.

Perform the following steps to configure SafeNet Trusted Access as your Identity Provider in Syncplicity:

1.Log in to Syncplicity as an administrator, click the Admin tab and then click the Settings tab.

2.Under Manage Settings, under Account Configuration, click Custom domain and single sign-on.

3.Under Configure Authentication Settings, perform the following steps:

a.Under Domain Settings, in the Custom Domain field, enter an appropriate domain name (for example, gemalto) that you want to register with Syncplicity.

b.Under Single Sign-On(SSO), enable Single Sign-On Status.

c.In the Entity Id field, enter the entity ID of Syncplicity in the https://<Domain name>.syncplicity.com format.

For example, https://gemalto.syncplicity.com

d.In the Sign-in page URL field, enter the SingleSignOnService URL that is provided on the SafeNet Trusted Access console.

You can copy this URL by clicking on the Copy to Clipboard icon available next to the SingleSignOnService field.

e.Under Identity Provider Certificate, click Choose File to search and select the Identity Provider signing certificate (in the .pem format) that you download earlier from the SafeNet Trusted Access console.

f.Click Save changes.

SafeNet Trusted Access Setup

After completing the first step of configuring SafeNet Trusted Access in Syncplicity, the second step is to activate the Syncplicity application in SafeNet Trusted Access by performing the following steps:

1.In the Applications pane, you will notice that the Syncplicity application that you added previously is currently in inactive state by default. To configure and activate this application, click the application (for example, Syncplicity) and proceed to the next step.

2.Under STA Setup perform the following steps:

a. In the DOMAIN NAME field, enter your organization’s Syncplicity account domain name (for example, gemalto) that you registered with Syncplicity.

b.Under User Login ID Mapping, in the NAME ID field, ensure that Email address is selected.

c.Under User Portal Settings, in the SERVICE LOGIN URL field, enter the Entity Id (for example, https://gemalto.syncplicity.com) that you entered in step 3(c) of Syncplicity Setup.

d.Click Save Configuration to save the details and activate the Syncplicity application in SafeNet Trusted Access.

Verify Authentication

Using STA Console

Navigate to your organization’s Syncplicity login URL, https://<Domain Name>.syncplicity.com, where, <Domain Name> is your company' s domain name that you registered with Syncplicity. You will be redirected to the SafeNet Trusted Access sign-in page. Enter your primary directory login information, approve the two-factor authentication, and you should be redirected to the Syncplicity application after authentication.

Using STA User Portal

Navigate to the User Portal URL to log in to the STA User Portal dashboard. On the dashboard, you will see a list of applications to which you have access. Click on the Syncplicity application icon, you should be redirected to the Syncplicity application after authentication.
