SafeNet Trusted Access for UserVoice

Overview

Configuring SafeNet Trusted Access for UserVoice is a three-step process:

1.UserVoice setup

2.SafeNet Trusted Access setup

3.Verify authentication

UserVoice Setup

As a prerequisite, download the Identity Provider signing certificate from the SafeNet Trusted Access console by clicking the Download X.509 certificate button. You will need this certificate in one of the steps given below.

Perform the following steps to configure SafeNet Trusted Access as your Identity Provider in UserVoice:

1.Log in to UserVoice as an administrator using the https://<subdomain>.uservoice.com/admin/signin URL.

Where, <subdomain> is the domain configured on the UserVoice portal while creating a UserVoice account.

2.On the administrator dashboard, in the left pane, click Settings.

3.Under SETTINGS, click Web Portal.

4.On the Web portal tab, under User authentication, click Edit.

5. Under Edit User Authentication, perform the following steps:

a.Under SIGN-IN METHOD, select the Single Sign-On (SSO) option.

b.In the SSO REMOTE SIGN-IN URL field, enter the SINGLESIGNONSERVICE URL that is provided on the SafeNet Trusted Access console.

You can copy this URL by clicking the Copy to Clipboard icon available next to the SINGLESIGNONSERVICE field.

c.Under SAML SINGLE SIGN ON, click Choose File to search and select the identity provider signing certificate that you downloaded earlier from the SafeNet Trusted Access console.

d.Click Save.

5.In a Web browser, open the URL, https://<subdomain>.uservoice.com/saml/metadata.xml.

Where,<subdomain> is the domain that you configured on the UserVoice portal while creating the UserVoice account.

6.The UserVoice metadata will be downloaded automatically. Save it on your local machine with the .xml extension (for example, metadata.xml).

SafeNet Trusted Access Setup

After completing the first step of configuring SafeNet Trusted Access in UserVoice, the second step is to activate the UserVoice application in SafeNet Trusted Access by performing the following steps:

1.In the Applications pane, you will notice that the UserVoice application that you added previously is currently in inactive state by default. To configure and activate this application, click the application (for example, UserVoice) and proceed to the next step.

2.Under STA Setup, click Upload UserVoice Metadata.

3.On the Metadata upload window, click Browse to search and select the UserVoice metadata that you downloaded in step 5 of UserVoice Setup.

Under Account Details, the service provider metadata information is displayed.

4.Click Save Configuration to save the details and activate the UserVoice application in SafeNet Trusted Access.

Verify Authentication

Using STA Console

Navigate to the UserVoice login URL, https://<subdomain>.uservoice.com/. On the top right-hand side corner of the window, click Sign in. You will be redirected to the SafeNet Trusted Access sign-in page. Enter your primary directory login information, approve the two-factor authentication, and you should be redirected to the UserVoice application after authentication.

Using STA User Portal

Navigate to the User Portal URL to log in to the STA User Portal dashboard. On the dashboard, you will see a list of applications to which you have access. Click on the UserVoice application icon, you should be redirected to the UserVoice application after authentication.
